This is my video analysis for A Quiet Place
The text was an extract from A Quiet Place. The film maker wanted to show how deserted, isolated, and stranded the city was, the people that lives there couldn't make any loud noises, and how the character trying to find shelter or safe place.
The film maker uses the technical elements such as establishing shot at the start of the film where the street is looking very empty and shabby. Diegetic sound was also included such as sound of the rustling of dried leaves, the wind breeze, and the sound of footsteps when people walks. There was also a non-diegetic sound such as a thrilling scores at the start of the film. This creates a sense of how neglected the city was and implying mysteries that lies behind it as well as suggesting that the family are the only people who are left in the city. Moreover, during the scene in the shop/market the film maker started with low shot to show how lonely the character is in the middle of the neglected and dusty market stall this imply that no one has been there for such a long time and create a sense of dumped and unused things since there was a medicine, foods, and toys that was left in the market. This idea is also supported by the silence and quietness of the environment and there was no other sound other than nature and the movement of the character. A melancholy scores was also played when the character was having a conversation to show sadness and how they wanted to leave the city.

I believe this target audience will guide me on making the storyboard better and provides direction. What will I do differently next time would be thinking critically more on what message I should deliver for my product.

I love identifying the camera angles and movement as well as analyzing what the advertisement is trying to tell the audience. I believe, studying and analyzing these adverts helps me understand how media shapes our society, influences opinions. It is exciting to uncover the hidden messages and meanings behind advertisements. Moreover, I think it is difficult sometimes to guess what the adverts is trying to say and finding the message behind a scene. And how will this help you in the project is that to have a deep understanding of how media messages are constructed and disseminated. Lastly, next time I will assess my time management and allocate enough time for each phase of the research, including planning, data collection, analysis, and writing.
